Stories of Freedom is relaunching in a new and exciting format.
After pioneering this incredible series about courage, and fellowship, and the story-behind-the-story of events that shaped our world in audio format at the @MriyaReport Twitter Space, these powerful stories have been remastered and improved!
Each week, both fan favorites and new Stories of Freedom will drop on YouTube (Rumble coming soon). Afterwards, join me for a meet-up on here on Locals and Twitter Spaces for a deep dive on the new episode. The exciting re-launch begins with a double feature: "Stealing the Devil's Passport." This is the powerful true-life story of the Great Escape from the Holocaust during World War II by more than 2,200 Jews. The biblical Exodus from tyranny in Egypt was the first story of freedom in human history. This later 20th-century exodus from Europe echos that story, telling a powerful story of courage, and determination, and the (re)establishment of a homeland far away.
Next week concludes what I've come to think of as the "Yad Vashem Cycle" with the story of Michael I of Romania: "Communism's Last King." This episode is a favorite since it reveals the personal side of the relationship between King Michael I and his amazing mother: Queen Helen of Greece. While both lived as prisoners in their home during most of World War II, together this mother and son duo would turn the tables on both Hitler and Stalin and speed the end of the war. In the process, the young King Michael would be forced to make a terrible choice.
I hope that you are just as excited about the relaunch of this series as I am. Each episode has been lovingly remastered and improved with detailed maps, photos, and fresh insights into the people, places, and events that altered the course of history and still inspire hope in freedom today.
